John W. Byer is the founder and principal geologist at the J. Byer Group. He received his Masters of Science at the University of Southern California in Engineering Geology. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology at the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Robert I. Zweigler is the Principal Geotechnical Engineer and vice-president of the J. Byer Group. He received his Masters of Business Administration at the California State University, Northridge. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Geology at the University of California at Los Angeles. He is a registered civil engineer, registered geotechnical engineer, registered geologist and a certified engineering geologist.
